Bethune College is a women's college located on Bidhan Sarani in Kolkata, India, and affiliated to the University of Calcutta. It is the oldest women's college in India. It was established as a girls' school in 1849,: 11–12 and as a college in 1879.
Admission to the college is granted on the understanding that the student undertakes to conform in all respects to the rules and discipline of Bethune College and the University of Calcutta. General Information and Requirement for Admission : Only Female candidates are eligible to apply.

About. Norman Bethune College was established in August 1971 and was originally known as "College G." Its interdisciplinary theme is "Science and Society." Originally housed in the basement of Steacie Library, it moved to the current building in 1972.
