In March 2024, The Boy and the Heron was announced to be released on Max in the US, and on Netflix in territories other than the US and Japan. The film will be released in Japan on DVD, Blu-ray, and Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 3, 2024, by Walt Disney Japan. It is the first 4K release for a Studio Ghibli film.
Sinopsis. Mahito, un joven de 12 años, lucha por asentarse en una nueva ciudad tras la muerte de su madre. Sin embargo, cuando una garza parlante informa a Mahito de que su madre sigue viva, entra en una torre abandonada en su busca, lo que le lleva a otro mundo.
About. After losing his mother, Mahito moves to the country with his father and new stepmother, Natsuko, and encounters a mysterious gray heron.
