Porsche introduces the first GT2 with the 993. 430bhp and beefy aerodynamic addenda distinguish it from lesser 911s. 2001. The 996 GT2, with rear-wheel drive and no traction control, attracts the ‘widowmaker’ tag. 2004. A revised model goes on sale, boasting 483bhp via tweaks to ECU and turbos.
The Gumball 3000 is an annual 3,000 mile international road rally which takes place on public roads, with a different 3,000 mile route around the world each year. Founded in 1999, it sees an annual entry of 120 cars, which are mostly exotic and powerful sports cars.
