Grace Brewster Murray Hopper (1906–1992) was an American computer scientist and Navy Rear Admiral with many strings to her bow. These included devising the theory of machine-independent programming languages and the foundations of COBOL, the first standardized general business computer language.
3 de dic. de 2014 · Throughout her life, she excelled at being able to translate scientific problems — such as those involving trajectories, fluid flows, explosions, and weather patterns — into mathematical equations and then into ordinary English. This talent helped to make her a good programmer. By 1940 Grace Hopper was bored.
