Leeds United. McAllister arrived at Leeds United on 2 July 1990 for a tribunal-determined fee of £1,000,000, and replaced the role vacated by Vinnie Jones when he left for Sheffield United. The club had just achieved promotion to Division One, the top tier of English football at the time.

Gary McAllister MBE (born 25 December 1964 in Newarthill, Motherwell) played primarily as a midfielder. McAllister captained the side for two seasons and won a special place in the hearts of Leeds United fans with his fine attitude, blistering long-range strikes and trademark free kicks.

Gary McAllister played 10 seasons for Coventry City, Leeds United and Liverpool. He had a record of W124 D92 L109 with a hat trick, 49 goals and 47 assists in 325 appearances.
McAllister, a former Leeds United player, took the helm as the club’s manager in 2008, leaving an indelible mark on the team and its supporters. Born in 1964, McAllister’s return to Elland Road as a manager was met with anticipation and excitement.
