Zwarte Piet (Dutch: [ˈzʋɑrtə ˈpit]; Luxembourgish: Schwaarze Péiter; West Frisian: Swarte Pyt), also known in English by the translated name Black Pete, is the companion of Saint Nicholas (Dutch: Sinterklaas; French: Saint-Nicolas; West Frisian: Sinteklaas; Luxembourgish: Kleeschen) in the folklore of the Low Countries.
Zwarte Piet (traducible al español como «Pedro el Negro») es el paje que ayuda a San Nicolás a repartir regalos en la Fiesta de San Nicolás, celebrada en los Países Bajos y Bélgica. Cada año llega a las costas neerlandesas en el barco de vapor de Sinterklaas, procedente de España, y reparte juguetes a los niños que se han portado bien.
In modern adaptations for television, Sinterklaas has developed a Zwarte Piet for every function, such as a Head Piet (Hoofdpiet), a Navigation Piet (Wegwijspiet) to navigate the steamboat from Spain to the Netherlands, a Presents Piet (Pakjespiet) to wrap all the gifts, and Acrobatic Piet to climb roofs and chimneys.

Op de Nederlandse Antillen werd Sinterklaas begeleid door Zwarte Pieten; Sinterklaas werd wit geschminkt. Op Curaçao waren er naast Zwarte Pieten als begeleider van Sanikolas ook pieten met alle kleuren van de regenboog en fantasiewezens.
