Mary Blair (born Mary Browne Robinson; October 21, 1911 – July 26, 1978) was an American artist, animator, and designer. She was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella.
Mary Blair’s artistic imprint on Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” remains a testament to her ability to elevate storytelling through her unique style of visual enchantment.

16 de dic. de 2023 · For Alice in Wonderland, she made hundreds of gouache studies, in which the heroine falls down the rabbit hole into a technicolored world of unusual color contrasts. Given her role, Blair felt “unlimited” in what she could achieve at Disney, explaining that there was “no discrimination against women.
Her unique designs led Walt Disney to assign her work on the films Song of the South (1948), The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Peter Pan (1953).
