Kilmarnock ( / kɪlˈmɑːrnək / kil-MAR-nək; Scots: Kilmaurnock; Scottish Gaelic: Cill Mheàrnaig, IPA: [kʲʰiːʎ ˈvaːɾnəkʲ]) is a town and former burgh in East Ayrshire situated in southwest Scotland. The town has served as the administrative centre of East Ayrshire Council since 1996 [5] and is the region's main commercial and industrial centre. [6]
The club has achieved several honours since its formation in 1869, [5] most recently the 2011–12 Scottish League Cup after a 1–0 win over Celtic at Hampden Park [6] and the Scottish Championship title in 2022. The club nickname, Killie, is the Scottish term for the town of Kilmarnock .

Kilmarnock (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Mheàrnaig; locally known as Killie) is a large burgh in East Ayrshire, Scotland, with 44,170 people. It is roughly between Glasgow and Ayr, and is the second largest town in Ayrshire. The River Irvine runs through its eastern section, and the Kilmarnock Water passes through it, giving rise to the name 'Bank Street'.
