  3. Duke Ellington School of the Arts is the sole D.C. public high school to offer a dual curriculum encompassing professional arts training and academic enrichment. DESA nurtures a passion for arts in talented students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to develop their artistic skills.

  4. We do so by guiding 9th to 12th grade students through a full academic course of study and an arts major: Dance, Literary Media and Communications, Museum Studies, Instrumental or Vocal Music, Theatre, Technical Design and Production, or Visual Arts.
