March 1, 1836. The only reinforcements known to have entered the Alamo after the siege began arrived on this date. Compelled by Travis’ February 24th letter that had come to Gonzales first, they had gathered as many men as they were able, many of whom had fought in the Battle of Gonzales, and marched to the Alamo.
