The aim of this lesson is to teach food items which are split according to the groups of food they belong to. Products are divided into four food groups: fish & meat, fruit & vegetables, dairy products and grain products.
In the second lesson of Carol Read’s Amazing world of food, children learn to identify and describe food groups and what you need to eat to have a healthy, balanced diet, recognize and understand the role of nutrients in food, and plan a healthy picnic.
In this lesson, students are encouraged to talk about the kinds of food they eat, and the nutritional value of their diets. The food pyramid is given as a guide for healthy eating. Contains reading, speaking, listening and writing exercises as well as a collaborative project.
