Suppose you notice a coworker has a strange ritualized way of arranging papers on her desk, and that she over-reacts if anyone moves one of her papers. You might find her behavior creepy, even if it is neither gross nor disgusting.

But 'spooky' literally refers to 'spooks' or 'ghosts' – i.e. spirits from the world beyond the grave. 'Creepy' is more general. It is a place that gives you 'the creeps', a familiar term for feeling uncomfortable/scared.

If you write: Her mysterious smile made a lot of people creepy and comfortable, it will be understood that many people feel both "creepy and comfortable". It isn't possible to do as you have done and still retain the idea of "some people..." and "others..." Using "or" does not solve the problem.

If their was, let's say (for sake of arguement ), a girl stalking me, and she was someone I wanted nothing to do with and she continued to stalk me, I would have to say she was a creep. If not a creep herself, I would definetly say her behaviour (at least in regards to stalking me) was "creepy."
8 de dic. de 2007 · Generally, in movies, the translation to "gostosa" is not "sexy", but "hot". Like "Ela é muito gostosa!", "She is so hot!". If a girl from my class comes with a small skirt or something like that I say "Sexy!" and that is okay, but "Gostosa" might sound too dirty, I think. *Sexy is already an official Portuguese word.

The casual verb expression "to creep somebody out" means the person, film, idea, place, sight, etc., raises feelings of disgust and horror in somebody. "That film really creeped me out.'

The reference seems to be to a wish to escape from this planet and find or create a better world elsewhere. In the 60's many people were critical of society, and had ideas about how society could be better organized.
