Colin Leo Hanton (born 12 December 1938, Walton Hospital, Walton, Liverpool, Merseyside) was a drummer for The Quarrymen—the band which would later evolve into The Beatles.

He shares the amazing story of first meeting John Lennon and then the group evolving and growing gig by gig and adding the other future Beatles as time went on.
The Quarrymen were formed in 1956 at Quarry Bank School by John Lennon, with Bill Smith, Pete Shotton, Eric Griffiths and Rod Davis. Others came and went, like Ivan Vaughan and Nigel Walley (who became manager). The group then added Colin Hanton and Len Garry.
