  1. Armed with your info i found it indeed to be a Spanish Santa Barbara action. These ones were commercial mauser actions made in 1969/70's for Parker Hale. Musgrave then bought a whole lot from PH England. From what I can gather these are not bad actions, although I would have preferred something more Germanic.

  2. HTML code is Off. Forum Rules. Hi guys. Any Musgrave fundis out there can help identify a musgrave 243 for me. It has controlled round feed, not the normal Mauser flag safety but a slide safety on the right. The serial number starts R- *****. Interested in it but the trigger needs work. If you engage the safety and pull the trigger then ...

  3. Re: Info on 308 Musgrave_worth buying? This rifle was built on a Santa Barbara action. This is basically a Spanish built version of the FN "Mauser" action, which is a much improved sporter version of the military K98. The current Zastava M70 is basically the same thing.

  4. Re: Santa barbara mauser action. Hi KD, I have an 7x57 that is built on Santa Barbara action and no problems, the action is a bid hard and not as smooth as an Sako action, but it works well. I think it`s good value for money. Quick Navigation Tactical Rifles and Carbines Top. The GUN LAWYERS board –Free gun related legal advice.

  7. Re: Musgrave model identification. Not much detail I can see on the pic, but from the little I can see it looks like it is built on a Santa Barbara action. This is basically a commercial FN "Mauser" action, but built by SB in Spain. AFAIK, only 1 version was built on this action, the only option being calibre. 07-01-2018, 21:07 #5.

  8. 13 de feb. de 2021 · From what I could google I believe that it is the 1100M model. Parker Hale apparently built rifles on a variety of actions but mostly Santa Barbara and military Mauser action. This is obviously not a military Mauser action but it doesn't look like the Santa Barbara actions I am used to either. Does anyone have an idea of the action's origins?

  9. 4 de feb. de 2015 · The santa barbara is a K98 buildt in Portugal iirc It is a casting. Purists will prefer that an action is machined out of a single piece of steel though The RSA action and Remington 700 is castings as well and superbly accurate. It has a safety on the side which is more convenient than the normal Mauser flag type safety when a scope is fitted.

  10. Voere with a Mauser Santa Barbara action. Action was not made by Voere but would appear to be contracted out possibly to a Hungarian manufacturing plant. Interesting the slide safety. Looks very much like a Voere Cougar as Andrew points out. Voere to this day do not make their own barrels. They use Walther or Ferlach barrels - model dependent.
