• Prof. M G K Menon (28 August 1928 - 22 November 2016), was an Advisor in the Department of Space/ Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). • He was the President of Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta (1990- 2016).
Menon made pioneering contri-butions to particle physics and successfully implemented a grand vision for the scientific and technological growth of India. Born in Mangalore, India, Menon received a B.S. degree from Jaswant College, Jodhpur, in 1946.

28 de nov. de 2016 · A renowned physicist from India, Menon was elected President of ICSU at its General Assembly in Bern in 1986. In 1989, he was nominated to be India’s Minister of State for Science and Technology and for Education and was a member of the Indian Parliament from 1990-1996.
Professor M.G.K. Menon is presently the Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Distinguished Professor of the Indian Space Research Organization. Formerly Chairman, Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
