Genésio Darci Boff (n. en Concórdia, Brasil, 14 de diciembre de 1938), más conocido como Leonardo Boff, es sacerdote, y franciscano durante años, filósofo, escritor, profesor y ecologista brasileño.

Leonardo Boff was born 14 December 1938 in Concórdia, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. He is a theologian and writer, known for his active support for the rights of the poor and excluded. He currently serves as Professor Emeritus of Ethics, Philosophy of Religion and Ecology at the Rio de Janeiro State University.

Leonardo Boff is a Brazilian theologian and one of the founders of Liberation Theology. Once a priest, he was twice silenced by the Vatican and left the church. Still active as a lay priest in poor communities, he helps people find a vision encompassing social justice, human spirituality and ecology.
