I like that you included the nicknames. That’s an important part of naming a baby that a lot of people overlook. If the kid doesn’t come up with their own nickname, others will. I did choose names that could be shortened but I resisted the nicknames for the longest, until my son at peak toddlerhood insisted he go by a nickname that he picked.

Your wife atarts pictureing cute outfits he will wear. Just talk about your boy as if her were already born. Then you two have sex, hope/pray for the best. 9.

One of my favorite videos is the one about black men and colorism — as a light skinned black dude it really shone a light on some of my own personal struggles being told I was too sensitive, kind and “pussy”, not black enough etc. Reinforcing the same energy that makes “light skinned women” more attractive to black men because they’re more “feminine”
What are your favorite uncommon boy names? The names I like, but don’t necessarily love are Lane, August (I work in a preschool and there are several…), Ellis, Leland, Soren (two Sorens in ONE class), Stellan, Asa.
