The Perse School is a private school (English fee-charging day and, in the case of the Perse, a former boarding school) in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1615 by Stephen Perse , its motto is Qui facit per alium facit per se , taken to mean 'He who does things for others does them for himself'.
The Perse is Cambridge’s oldest surviving secondary school, founded in 1615 by Dr Stephen Perse, a fellow of Gonville and Caius College. Initially a theologian, he became a tutor in medicine and a successful practising physician but made most of his fortune through investment in land and property and by funding the ventures of others.

From the Perse School for Girls, the Foundation developed to become the Stephen Perse Foundation in 2007. It opened a co-educational sixth form in 2008. It now provides a complete educational pathway for boys and girls from age 1 to 18.
