John Lombardo (born 30 September 1952) is one of the founding members of the American alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs and one of the band's most influential members, writing much of its early material. He is also a member of folk rock duo John & Mary.
John Lombardo, who was in a band named The Mills (along with brother guitarist/vocalists Mark Liuzzo and Paul Liuzzo and drummer Mike Young) and used to play occasionally with Still Life, was invited to join permanently on guitar and vocals. Newhouse and Cardinale left the band in July, and Merchant became the main singer.
Through it all the creative core of the band remains, along with its trademarks of eclectic music and poetic lyrics. The band includes founding members, drummer Jerome Augustyniak, keyboardist Dennis Drew, bassist Steven Gustafson, guitarist John Lombardo and lead singer, Mary Ramsey who's been working with that band for over 30 years.
He plays in many bands including performing with John Lombardo and Mary Ramsey in their local projects. Ben has been a fan of 10,000 Maniacs since he was 17 years old and considers 10,000 Maniacs as his favorite band. He's now gone from stalker to maniac. “A dream come true,” says Ben.
