Ollie Imogene "Jean" Shepard (November 21, 1933 – September 25, 2016), was an American country singer who was considered by many writers and authors to be one of the genre's first significant female artists.
Shepherd lived in several New York City locations during his WOR days and for a time in New Milford, New Jersey, [30] and in Washington Township, Warren County, New Jersey. [31] Shepherd was married four times. He was briefly married in 1947 to Barbara Mattoon in Hammond. [32]
