This is a list of current countries and territories with a flag that incorporates the Union Flag. Five Commonwealth nations have the Union Flag on their national flag. The first Commonwealth country to drop the Union Flag was Canada in 1965, after adopting a new national flag.

Conventional belief states that King Richard I was the first person to adopt St. George as the patron saint of England and carry standards with St. George’s Cross (a red cross on a white field) into the Crusades, though there isn’t much evidence to support this idea.
The four nations that make up the United Kingdom - Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England - also have their own flags as do the Isle of Man, Cornwall, the Scilly Islands and the various islands that make up the Channel Islands.
