One of Bissonette's first recordings was on jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson's Live from San Francisco in 1983. Brother Matt was also in the band and on the recording. He later appeared on Brandon Fields' The Other Side of the Story in 1985. It featured David Garfield on keyboards.
The band toured the world and recorded a live CD called Live in San Francisco. After the Maynard gig, Gregg joined The Brandon Fields Band and recorded The Other Side of the Story . The members on that CD included Brandon Fields, saxes, Walt Fowler, trumpet and keys, David Garfield, keyboards, John Pattitucci, bass, and Gregg on drums.

28 de sept. de 2017 · Bissonette went on to study at the University of North Texas where he was a music education major. He was featured in the famed One O'Clock Lab Band. After college, Gregg Bissonette joined Matt Bissonette in the Maynard Ferguson big band and recorded Live from San Francisco.
