Same. I always imagined Grover as black. Maybe it was just because I started reading the books around the same time the movie came out. I think making Grover black was one of the best things the directors ever did, even if they then proceeded to totally screw up his characterisation by making him this cocky, cool, care-free ladies man, which is the opposite of what his personality is in the books.
