Highway Call is the debut album by Dickey Betts (under the name Richard Betts), of The Allman Brothers Band. It was recorded in 1974 in Macon, Georgia, at Capricorn Studios. Betts further develops the country sound that emerged on the Allmans' 1973 album Brothers and Sisters.
During the mid-1970s Leavell also appeared on Dickey Betts's first solo record, Highway Call. Highway Call Album Review - Richard Betts, Chuck Leavell, Vassar Clements, John Hughey. Highway Call is a great album that I absolutely love! I would use it on my radio show to segue in and out of a variety of themes and sets including the ABB, Blues, Blue Grass, Country and Rock and Roll.
