David Knopfler (Glasgow, Escocia, 27 de diciembre de 1952) es un influyente guitarrista, pianista, cantante y compositor británico, miembro y cofundador de la banda de rock británica Dire Straits y hermano del guitarrista Mark Knopfler.
David Knopfler (born 27 December 1952) is a British musician. He was born in Scotland, but raised in Blyth , near Newcastle upon Tyne , England. Together with his older brother Mark Knopfler , John Illsley , and Pick Withers , he founded the rock band Dire Straits in 1977, serving as rhythm guitarist on their first two albums.
