Enrolment at the school is governed by The Ministry of Education enrolment scheme. All in-zone students have the right to attend Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora. In-zone applications are accepted at any time, however, please apply early to enable planning for next year.
Christchurch Girls' High School, known to many as Girls' High or CGHS, provides boarding facilities for 95 students from years 9 to 13 at Acland House, located 20–30 minutes walk away from school. The school stands by the Avon River, on a site it has occupied since 1986.

Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora employs over 125 full and part-time staff, including teachers, administration, grounds and maintenance, catering, and boarding staff. Our highly qualified, passionate teachers are continuing on their own learning journey so that the students they teach receive a well-rounded education.
