Johnny Moped are an English punk rock group formed in South London in the mid-1970s, who once had Chrissie Hynde (later of the Pretenders) and Captain Sensible (later of the Damned) as members. [1] Biography. Formed in Croydon in May 1974, the band were a proto-punk band.
20 de jun. de 2013 · Early in the music documentary Basically, Johnny Moped, punk icon and pop ironist Captain Sensible recounts the first gig by his first band, something called Genetic Breakdown, at a festival in a park in their home South London borough of Croydon. The group were set up but the frontman, one Paul Halford, was nowhere to be found.

17 de dic. de 2021 · Despite being able to count both Chrissie Hynde and Captain Sensible as past members, success was not to come their way and Johnny Moped are now largely forgotten, punk rock's great lost band. Their story is however a fascinating one that, along with some of the era's most innovative music deserves to be heard.
