Roland's MRM‑500 software (optional on the MC50 MkI but in ROM on the MkII) allows you to convert between MRC files and MIDI files in both directions. However, it takes up some memory on the MC50 MkI machine, and thus files which take up more than about 70% of the memory will not convert.
13 de oct. de 2012 · At the time, Roland sold an OM-500 upgrade kit for the MC-500 that upgraded it to a MC-500B (which was a MkII in all but name). With the kit came some stickers for keys whose functionality is changed with the use of Super-MRC software on an upgraded MC-500.
Built-in obsolescence became less of a fear, provided Roland stuck to their promise of future updates and upgrades. The release of the Super MRC software shows they have. It's available on its own for existing MC500 owners, or packaged with expanded hardware in the guise of the MC500 MkII.
5 de dic. de 2011 · A week rolls by, and I have new disks, one a Roland MC 300/500 OS disk, and another the Super MRP disc that's supposed to upgrade the firmware. The MC-500 didn't recognize either as system disks.
24 de abr. de 2016 · Just curious if the Roland MC-500 mkII sequencer can do note-by-note step sequencing (inputting chords as well). Really want a hardware sequencer that can step sequence and can be programmed to handle different time signatures.
