16 de feb. de 2024 · The Höfner violin bass that accompanied the Beatles to fame went missing more than 50 years ago. Two journalists and a Höfner expert were determined to find it.
The Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass (sometimes nicknamed the "Beatle Bass" or "Cavern Bass") is a model of electric bass manufactured by Höfner under several varieties. It was introduced in 1955 and gained celebrity status during the 1960s as the primary bass used by Paul McCartney of The Beatles.
10 de may. de 2023 · Paul McCartney is most known for playing the Höfner 500/1 “Violin” or “Cavern” Bass guitar which was one of the primary instruments of his tenure with The Beatles. He’s also played a wide range of other bass and six-string guitar models throughout his storied career.
16 de feb. de 2024 · McCartney began the concert playing his trusty ’63 bass, but for his last song, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, he switched to the new Jubilee bass. After the concert, he was photographed next to the Queen, holding the Jubilee bass.
After 51 years, the bass, which was used by Sir Paul throughout much of his playing in the Beatles, turned up thanks to efforts from The Lost Bass Project and Hofner Guitars. The find was announced through both Paul McCartney’s website and Hofner Guitars’:
