Grimma ist eine Große Kreisstadt im Landkreis Leipzig. Die Mittelstadt im Tal der Mulde ist die nach Fläche viertgrößte Stadt Sachsens. Sie wurde im Jahr 1200 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt, die Fläche wuchs erst durch zahlreiche Eingemeindungen im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert.
