American jazz trumpeter, singer, composer, and artist. Born: 23 December 1929 in Yale, Oklahoma, USA. Died: 13 May 1988 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (aged 58). Baker began his career in the early 1950s and played together with Charlie Parker and Gerry Mulligan.
Chet Baker Sings is the debut vocal album by jazz musician Chet Baker, released in 1954 by Pacific Jazz Records. In 2001, the album received the Grammy Hall of Fame Award. Baker would return to selections from this album throughout his career.
