Ricky, new to the school, is an outcast who spends most of his time video-taping “beautiful” things (like dead birds and floating plastic bags). But soon the beautiful Jane Burnham catches the eye of his lens and she becomes — much to her initial regret — the object of his desire.
Wes Bentley is an American actor who first became well-known via his role in the Oscar-winning film American Beauty (1999), in which he played the soulful, artistic next-door neighbor Ricky Fitts.
Retired Marine colonel Frank Fitts, his near- catatonic wife Barbara, and their teenage son Ricky move in next door. Ricky documents the world around him with a camcorder, collecting recordings on videotape in his bedroom, as he finds beauty in everyday occurrences.
