Soji Shimada (1948~) was born in Hiroshima. After graduating from Musashino Art University, he experienced a few professions, such as writer and musician, and made his debut with Senseijutsu Satsujin Jiken (The Tokyo Zodiac Murders), which was shortlisted for Edogawa Ranpo Prize, in 1981.
