Alfred North Whitehead OM FRS FBA (15 February 1861 – 30 December 1947) was an English mathematician and philosopher. He created the philosophical school known as process philosophy, [2] which has been applied in a wide variety of disciplines, including ecology, theology, education, physics, biology, economics, and psychology .
Alfred North Whitehead. Nació el 15 de febrero de 1861 en Ramsgate ( Kent ). Cursó estudios en el Trinity College (Cambridge), donde también enseñó matemáticas desde 1885 hasta 1911. Impartió clases de matemáticas aplicadas y mecánica en la Universidad de Londres de 1911 a 1924, y filosofía en la Universidad de Harvard de 1924 a 1936.
Filósofo y matemático inglés, nacido en Ramsgate, Kent. Enseñó primeramente matemáticas en Cambridge, de 1884 a 1910, y luego en Londres hasta que, en 1924, es nombrado profesor de filosofía en Harvard, en los EE.UU., y pasa a residir en Cambridge, Massachusetts, hasta su muerte.
