Francis Alfred Suttill DSO (born, France, 17 March 1910 – executed, c. 23 March 1945), code name Prosper, was an agent of the United Kingdom's clandestine Special Operations Executive (SOE) organization in World War II.
Suttill was given only seven months of training in the ways of secret warfare and sent into the field. His main task was to set up a clandestine resistance organization in northern, southern, and eastern France, including the capital, Paris, which was in German hands.

Author Francis J Suttill is the son of Major Francis Suttill, aka Prosper, who was an agent for SOE and who organised a resistance circuit (codenamed Physician) in occupied France during WW2. Based in Paris, this circuit was always in imminent danger of discovery by the Gestapo and so it proved.
