Harry Pollitt (22 November 1890 – 27 June 1960) was a British communist who served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPGB) from July 1929 to September 1939 and again from 1941 until his death in 1960. Pollitt spent most of his life advocating communism.

26 de abr. de 2016 · In 1939 Harry Pollitt, after many years of fighting fascism in Britain and lending support to those fighting for the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War, welcomed the British declaration of war against Germany. He described it as a ‘just war’ but owing to the signing of the Soviet-Nazi pact he was seen to be taking the wrong line.
