Henry Stanbery (February 20, 1803 – June 26, 1881) was an American lawyer from Ohio. He was most notable for his service as Ohio's first attorney general from 1846 to 1851 and the United States Attorney General from 1866 to 1868.
Henry Stanbery was a lawyer from Ohio who served as attorney general under President Andrew Johnson from 1866 to 1868. He resigned to defend Johnson in his impeachment trial, but was rejected by the Senate when Johnson tried to reappoint him as attorney general.
