Sophia Domancich. France. Sophia Domancich began her musical studies at the age of six. She graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with a first prize in piano and a first prize in chamber music. She discovered jazz and improvisation with Steve Lacy and Laurent Cugny, who invited her to join his big band Lumière.

Sophia Domancich is closely associated with the Canterbury scene over the past twenty years. She has shared the stage with fellow French citizen Patrice Meyer. Hugh Hopper and Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean, John Greaves and Richard Sinclair all played with her, sometimes for a long time. Domancich began learning piano when she was six years old.
