Robert Hunter was an American lyricist, singer-songwriter, poet and translator, best known for his work with the Grateful Dead. He wrote lyrics to many of their signature songs, such as "Dark Star", "Ripple" and "Truckin'", and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 1994.
