Actualmente es solista, major y activo. Inicialmente con el nombre de Miyavi (雅～みやび～?) el músico comenzó como guitarrista de la banda indie llamada Due'le Quartz, en la cual destacaba no solo por ser el más joven, sino también por ser quien componía la mayor parte de las canciones y letras.
