He was a founding member and the lead guitarist of Deep Purple, playing jam-style hard rock music that mixed guitar riffs and organ sounds. [1] . Blackmore eventually moved to Engl Sovereign and Savage heads and combos, and has his own signature Ritchie Blackmore Engl E650 based on the Savage. It isn’t quite as simple as a Strat+Marshall-style amp, though. In classic Deep Purple he also used a Hornby-Skewes Treble Booster and a modified AIWA tape recorder.
