Transilvania (en rumano: Transilvania o Ardeal) es una región histórica del centro de Rumania. Está rodeada por los montes Cárpatos. La capital tradicional de la región, Cluj Napoca, se encuentra en la meseta de Alba Iulia, mientras que Braşov y Sibiu, dos de sus principales ciudades, están al pie de los Cárpatos.
