Chen is the author/editor of more than 35 books and over 200 journal articles in areas of new information technologies, such as global digital libraries, multimedia technology, digital imaging, interactive videodisc technology, global information infrastructure, information management, and information resources.
Steve Chen (Chinese: 陳士駿; Wade–Giles: Chen Shih-chün; born August 25, 1978) is a Taiwanese-American Internet entrepreneur who is one of the co-founders and previous chief technology officer of the American video-sharing website YouTube.After he co-founded the company AVOS Systems, Inc. and built the video-sharing app MixBit, he joined Google Ventures in 2014.
Since 2004, he has been an Associate Professor of materials science and engineering, National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, which he joined in 2000 as an Assistant Professor. He has authored or coauthored 33 journal papers in the areas of electronic packaging, electromigration of solder, and electronic materials.
Chih Chen received his Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science of University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1999 in Prof. King-Ning Tu’s group. He served as lecturer at UCLA MSE from 1999-2000. He joined National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Taiwan as an assistant professor in 2000.
