A prolific lyricist and librettist, Tim Rice was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He was educated at Aldwickbury School in Hertfordshire, St Albans School and finally Lancing College.
Lyricist partnered with composers Andrew Lloyd Weber and Elton John. Sir Tim Rice began his career in music as a singer, performing as lead vocalist with a Pop group known as The Aardvarks, from 1961 to 1963.
