Joseph Edward Klecko (born October 15, 1953) is an American former professional football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the New York Jets. He played college football for the Temple Owls and was a member of the Jets' famed " New York Sack Exchange ".
Joe Klecko was a versatile defensive lineman for the New York Jets from 1977 to 1988. He holds the team record for most sacks in a season (20.5) and was a four-time Pro Bowler and the UPI Defensive Player of the Year in 1981.

The scrum came to an abrupt end when Marty Lyons, Klecko’s concerned teammate, ran up behind the big defensive lineman, put him in a bear hug and pulled him from the fracas.
