Yuga Kawada (Japanese: 川田将雅, October 15, 1985 – ) is a Japanese jockey affiliated with the Japan Racing Association. Born to a family of horse racing, he is the leading jockey of JRA races of 2022. Since July 2016, Kawada, together with Yuichi Fukunaga, has a management contract with Horipro.

Bio. Yuga Kawada, one of Japan’s leading jockeys, piloted Loves Only You to victory in the 2021 Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf on Nov. 6 at Del Mar. It was the first Japan-based horse to win a World Championships race. Some of his best Japanese mounts have included Gentildonna, Makahiki, and Harp Star.
25 de mar. de 2023 · Yuga Kawada and Ushba Tesoro were the heroes on a thrilling night of racing as they claimed the $12 million Dubai World Cup for Japan at Meydan. It is only the second time Japan has won the race after Victoire Pisa became the first to take home the trophy in 2011.

For 37-year-old jockey Yuga Kawada, who has competed in more than 11,700 races in his career as a professional jockey, riding Ushba Tesoro to victory meant a lot to him. "I'm very proud of my horse and myself for winning the greatest race in the world," Kawada told reporters at Meydan Racecourse.
