Sunny Yang, who joined Kronos Quartet in 2013, will leave the group in January 2023. Paul Wiancko, a cellist/composer and a guest artist with Kronos, will join the ensemble in February 2023.
Sunny Yang, a USC Thornton alumna, joined the Kronos Quartet in 2013 as the fifth cellist in its history. She is a passionate and innovative musician who has lived on four continents and studied with Ralph Kirshbaum.
Cellist Sunny Yang will leave the quartet in January 2023 after 10 years of service. Paul Wiancko, a cellist and composer, will join the group in February 2023 as the fifth member of the ensemble.

Sunny Yang is one of the four cellists who have been in Kronos Quartet since 2013. A Thousand Thoughts is a compilation of 15 recordings from 14 countries, featuring diverse genres and traditions.
