Norwegian musician Rune Walle, whom the band had met while on tour in Europe with his band the Flying Norwegians, was then contacted in June to replace him. Walle's first show with the group was at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on July 23, 1976, on a bill that also included the Beach Boys, the Doobie Brothers, Jeff Beck and Firefall.

Rune Eugen Walle (born 2 November 1951) is a Norwegian musician known as a member of a number of bands; among others the country rock bands Flying Norwegians, Hole In the Wall and the American band The Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Walle's musical life began when he got a guitar at the age of nine.

"Byrdie's Dream" is a new album from Rune Walle (Flying Norwegians) & Gunn Alstadhaug. Inspired by Fairport Convention, The Byrds, Gram Parson and Emmylou Harris, the project also benefits from Rune Walle’s extensive musical background in Oriental Sunshine, Saft, Hole in the Wall, Flying Norwegians and Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
