Schuyler Washington Colfax III (/ ˈ s k aɪ l ə r ˈ k oʊ l f æ k s /; April 11, 1870 – March 29, 1925) was an American Republican politician who served as the 11th mayor of South Bend, Indiana from 1898 to 1902.
They had one son, Schuyler Colfax III (1870–1925), who served as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, from 1898 to 1901. He assumed office at the age of 28, and remains the youngest person to become mayor in the city's history.
