The 1968 Summer Olympics (Spanish: Juegos Olímpicos de Verano de 1968), officially known as the Games of the XIX Olympiad (Spanish: Juegos de la XIX Olimpiada) and commonly known as Mexico 1968 (Spanish: México 1968), were an international multi-sport event held from 12 to 27 October 1968 in Mexico City, Mexico.

19 de may. de 1998 · From 12 to 27 October, Mexico City was home to the XIX Olympic Games. For the first time ever, a major sports event was held in an unusual setting: the 2200m altitude of the Mexican mountain plateau, where the rarefied air contributed to heighten the drama which already surrounds every event.
11 de oct. de 2007 · Thirty-nine years ago, on 12 October 1968, the Games of the XIX Olympiad opened in Mexico City’s Olympic stadium. This edition of the Games was the first one to be held in a Latin American and developing country. Ten days before the Games began, the capital fell victim to political disputes.
